About AZUL
For me, AZUL is more than color. I’m Dutch, orange runs deep, our national shade of spirit and identity. But life moved me elsewhere. I’ve lived in Gran Canaria, in Barcelona, and found myself navigating new cultures, new languages, and new layers. Spanish became part of my voice. The word azul, blue, felt natural, but never cold. In this painting, it holds all those versions of self: the outer calm, the inner fire, the contrast between who we are and what we carry with us.
This painting is not about hiding. It’s about what shines through when you allow yourself to be seen. It’s calm. It’s complexity. And it’s home, in all its evolving shades.

Each original artwork is a one-of-a-kind creation; there is only one, ever made.
Every piece is hand-painted on premium canvas using mixed media techniques and finished with three protective layers of varnish (Matte, Gloss, or Satin), carefully chosen to complement the mood and colors of the work.
Your purchase includes a Certificate of Authenticity, a handwritten note from the artist, and a printed description of the artwork’s story.

The varnish matte, gloss, or satin is selected by the artist based on the artwork’s tone and composition to preserve its intended visual balance
